Alpenglow

Hi, I'm Nycola, I've had a passion for photography for about 25 years.  In this time I studied, graduated and worked in a whole other profession (feel free to ask me about it, when you meet me).  A few years ago, I embarked on this dream of turning my passion into a profession.  I studied photography full time and set about starting my own photography business, creating engaging images that draw you in, provoke emotion and connection to the image.

So why the name Alpenglow...

Alpenglow is an optical phenomenon that appears at dawn or dusk.  It appears as a reddish glow near the horizon, opposite of where the sun is either rising or setting.  This glow is  reflected on mountains (like our stunning Snowy Mountains),  buildings or wet sand on the beach.  This is where I see it most as I walk, with camera in hand, Kelpie by my side, at sunset on our gorgeous Queensland Beaches.  Photography is  the art / science of painting images with light.  "All things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for it is light that makes everything visible.”  Eph‬ ‭5:13‬.
